Course Description

This course examines a meta-analysis, published in 2019 in Clinical Psychology Review. It looks at the effect of offense specialized treatment on recidivism for sexual crimes, domestic violence and general violence.
Specifically, the study determines what program variables are important to optimize treatment for the best effects on recidivism reduction.
This is an accredited course designed for Licensed Professional Counselors to earn Continuing Education Hours, or LPC CEHs
Learning Objectives for Specialized Treatment and Recidivism
Upon course completion, learners will:
- Understand what treatment program variables have the largest impact on reducing recidivism for sexual offenses.
- Be able to explain what treatment program variables have the largest impact on reducing recidivism for domestic violence.
- Understand what treatment program variables have the largest impact on reducing recidivism for general violent crimes.
