Course Description

Tattooed woman with dyed hair in tank top, smoking a cigarette and contemplating "Addiction, Offending or Both?"

Increasingly, CSAT providers need to work with individuals who engage in offending behavior. Many times their crimes are related to child sexual exploitation materials. “Addiction, Offending or Both” looks at treatment at the intersection between addictive and and offending behaviors.

This training will serve as a primer for individuals who are interested in learning more about treating this population. The webinar will provide an overview of the psychological profiles of pornography addicts, offenders and address the overlap.

Diagnostic tools and assessments used to assess addiction and offending populations will be discussed. Additional topics will include therapist counter-transference and treatment considerations with particular emphasis on applying Patrick Carnes’ Task Model to this population.

This is an accredited course designed for Licensed Professional Counselors to earn Continuing Education Hours, or LPC CEHs
